SITU consists of three divisions: SITU Studio, SITU Research and SITU Fabrication. SITU Studio is a design office, SITU Research explores a broad range of techniques for spatial analysis and visualization and SITU Fabrication is a premier digital fabrication company. The three share a common workspace and regularly influence the thinking in other divisions. Some members of the staff actively work on projects in multiple divisions and at times, the edges between the three entities are difficult to define.

Aleksey Lukyanov-Cherny
Partner
Aleksey Lukyanov-Cherny was born in Kiev, Ukraine and moved to Brooklyn at age ten. Influenced by a family of architects, military pilots, and fashion designers, he naturally gravitated towards design, materials, and technology. He attended Stuyvesant High School and earned his B.Arch from Cooper Union School of Architecture in New York City. He has served as a guest critic at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and New York Institute of Technology, and lecturer on Building Technologies at the Cooper Union and Parsons School of Design.
Basar Girit
Partner
Basar Girit was born in England to Turkish parents and raised in New Jersey. He attended the Cooper Union School of Architecture. As part of an ongoing investigation of relationships between materials, forces, and techniques, he has taught Technics in the undergraduate architecture department at Pratt Institute. Straddling an engineering curriculum and a design studio, the class fosters intuitive understanding of structural forces using variable materials and assembly methods for small scale structures.
Wes Rozen
Partner
Westley Rozen grew up in five of the United States before settling in New York to attend Cooper Union in 1999, where he received a Benjamin Menschel Fellowship. In 2006, he pursued research in Copenhagen under a grant from the Danish Arts Council. His interests in film, mechanics, and animation have informed components of projects at Situ Studio and teaching positions at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University, the Aarhus Architecture School, Denmark and the Royal Academy School of Architecture, Denmark.
Brad Samuels
Partner
Bradley Samuels incorporates interests in forensics visualization, geosciences, and 3D modeling into Situ Studio's practice. He has taught geospatial and information-based mapping at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Columbia University. He was raised in Tokyo and Boston and holds a B.A. from Vassar College in Art History and a B.Arch from the Cooper Union School of Architecture.
